our Journey
From originating as an annual youth event in the Hebrides to an all year round national ministry for youth and young adults, we thank God for every step of the journey which have carried significant testimonies of God’s guidance, favour and provision. The growth and development of this ministry has been a reflection of God’s heart to encounter, equip and empower this generation to come more alive to who He is and who He is calling them to be.
Here is a little glimpse into our history:
In 2017, the seed of Awakening Youth Conference was planted in prayer and we began to prepare to host our first youth conference in the Hebrides.
In 2018, we welcomed over 80 young people from across the Highlands and Islands to our very first conference, gathering to seek God for an awakening in and through their lives.
Fast forward to 2024, God led us to bring our annual conference to the mainland in Perth. Here, we welcomed over 150 young people and knew a mighty move of God during our time. This is also when we launched the vision of Awakening Ministries, growing from a once a year event to a year round ministry.
God continued to stretch our tent pegs in 2025, leading us to develop this ministry to engage also with young adults.
Today, Awakening Ministries now serves youth and young adults throughout Scotland.

Our Vision
To see a generation awakened to the reality of their Kingdom identity, and to prepare a space where young people can encounter God’s presence, love and transforming power.
Awakening Ministries exists to prepare a way for God to move through worship, His Word, and the Holy Spirit. Our desire is that, through encountering Him, young people would discover who they are in Christ and grow in confidence in the calling God has placed on their lives.
We believe God’s hand is on this generation and we are passionate about serving alongside ministries across Scotland, the UK, and the globe to encourage unity, connection and revival among young people.
Born on the Isle of Lewis, Awakening carries a particular heart for those living in rural and isolated areas where opportunities for Christian community can often be limited. Across Scotland, there is also a growing gap for young adult Christians - many are searching for genuine community, discipleship and spaces to grow in their faith. Awakening exists to help bridge these gaps by creating opportunities for connection, encouragement and encounter with God. We recognise that there is a battle over the hearts, minds and identity of this generation and we believe the Church is called to respond with hope, truth and community. Our heart is to see young people know they are not alone, but part of a wider movement of God across Scotland.
We believe this is the generation David spoke of in Psalm 24 - a generation seeking the face of God with clean hands and pure hearts, ready to welcome the King of Glory into their lives, churches and communities. God is already moving powerfully among young people, igniting a fresh hunger and faith across the nation. We simply want to make room for His presence and play a part in what He is already doing.
